SUMMARY:TEM Shabbat Services
DESCRIPTION:The Traditional Egalitarian Minyan (TEM) is a warm\, spirited service\, committed to participatory worship. It meets in the Gewirz Beit Am every Shabbat morning and on some holidays at 9:30 a.m. Led by volunteers with the occasional assistance of Adas clergy\, the TEM service offers a full P’sukei D’Zimrah (introductory Psalms)\, Shacharit\, Torah service (starting around 10:20 a.m.) and Musaf. We read the entire weekly Torah portion\, and a D’var Torah is shared every week by a member of the TEM community. Our service ends around the same time as Adas’s Smith Sanctuary service\, and we will join the the congregational Kiddush once it resumes following the pandemic.

It is the very air they breathe. \nWhy have leftists and feminists\, who once stood far from even the notion of monarchy\, publicly united behind Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi as a transitional opposition figure? \nWhy are lifelong pacifists now speaking the unspeakable\, arguing that the world may need to confront the Islamic Republic with force? \nWhat breaks a society so profoundly\, so deeply\, and so painfully that even its gentlest voices begin to speak in the language of urgency? \nKhosro Isfahani will explore these questions and more through a tapestry of personal witness and national history. \nKhosro was born and raised in Tehran\, where he lived for over three decades\, working as a journalist and frontline human rights defender until 2021. He infiltrated secretive missile facilities. He smuggled classified documents beyond the regime’s reach. Today\, he serves as Research Director at the National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFDI)\, documenting abuses and articulating a pathway toward a democratic transition. \nThis is not merely a lecture about geopolitics.
