Dr. Brigadier General (Ret.) Jonatan (Yoni) Shimshoni served for 25 years in the IDF in field command and staff positions, and continued for many years in the reserves, working on doctrine and technology policy. He earned his PhD in national security policy from the public policy school at Princeton. He is currently on the leadership team of Commanders for Israel’s Security, a group of some 550 former senior leaders in Israel’s military, security, and diplomatic services that analyzes and advocates on issues of national security.
